We've been using bdscan on our servers for the last year or so, but its time to renew the licence

We've bought new licences, received the new licence key....but when I try to update the key value in bdscan.conf, it doesn't seem to renew the product. When I type in bdscan --info it still says licence is expired

Any thing I'm doing wrong?

Hi Jeff,

Welcome to our forum.

After changing an expired license key or after the renewal of an expired license key for BitDefender Antivirus Scanner for Unices, the following error may occur: “Your license has expired”. This error can appear both in CLI or GUI, even if the license is valid and properly added into the configuration file named /opt/BitDefender-scanner/etc/bdscan.conf .

In order to remediate this problem, the next two steps must performed:

• Login as root into the console and remove the next file:
# rm -f /opt/BitDefender-scanner/var/bddt.dat

• Update the product in order to recreate the file with the correct values:
# /opt/BitDefender-scanner/bdscan --update

Regards,

Andrei
