Installation Gets Stuck At "install Files"

1. Bitdefender Internet Security 2012
2. Windows Vista, 32-bit
3. 1918 MB RAM
4. During first installation attempt, received error "Fatal error during installation."
I purchased Bitdefender online today, and downloaded the installation kit to my desktop. The first time I tried to install the product, I was prompted to uninstall McAfee from my computer. I did so, and rebooted. The, I started the installation process again, but received the error "fatal error during installation." I read some proposed solutions from the Bitdefender forum, "unblocked" the installation kit from the kit's properties menu, and rebooted again.
Now, when I try to install the software, the program gets stuck at 0% at the "Installing files" part of the installation process.

What error message do you receive when you enter the key in the product?

I'm assuming that my license number was reset after I sent a separate email to Customer Service. Between that and downloading the other installation kit, I was able to install Bitdefender.
