  2. Need more options in managing & configuring the firewall. I am unable to find the options to switch for better firewall handling. If any application is blocked due to firewall rules it si not notified with any popup in-spite of enabling the paranoid mode & disabling auto-pilot mode.
  3. I have been running Bitdefender Total Security (BTS) since the 2008 version. Within the past 3 months, we upgraded to the 2017 version. This past week, I have had multiple PC's running BTS 2017 exhibit the same problem. All PC's in question are running 64-bit Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1. The problem surfaces to the end user by blocking network connectivity. Digging into BTS Firewall settings, there is no Adapter listed. Also, since there is no Adapter listed, there is also no Network Exceptions available. Turning off the BTS Firewall resolves the issue. Yesterday I have used the BTS Uninstall Utility to completely remove BTS from the affected system then reinstalled BTS 2017. Today another PC is exhibiting the same issue. Is this malware that I'm dealing with or some buggy BTS issue? How can I resolve this issue and get back to a stable operating environment? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  4. Haven't been able to open up the firewall to allow connections to shared drives on our Drobo 5N ever since the upgrade to Bitdefender 2017. 2 laptops, both running Win10. One laptop connects just fine: 2 Adapters appear in the Firewall settings for Local Area Connection and Local Area Connection* 3. The other laptop only has WiFi, no ethernet. No Adapters show up in the Firewall Adapters. I've tried adding the Drobo device IP address to the Network Exceptions, both as Trusted and Home/Office with Allow. Or maybe I need to play with Rules Advanced--but what Program path am I going to allow through? explorer.exe? And ports in the Advanced section? Frustrating that I can't access my home network files without turning off the firewall.
  6. Hey guys, since the other thread has been locked, I'll start a new one. Windows 10 1607 (Build 14393) has been released, I tried if to run sudo apt-get update with enabled firewall, but get error messages like this: W: Failed to fetch http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/trusty/multiverse/binary-amd64/Packages Cannot initiate the connection to archive.ubuntu.com:80 (2001:67c:1360:8001::17). - connect (101: Network is unreachable) [iP: 2001:67c:1360:8001::17 80], as soon as I turn of the firewall everything is fine. Does anybody know how to configure the Bitdefender firewall so that networking from the bash shell works, without turning off the firewall entirely? Kind Regards Stefan
  7. Hello, Currently, I need to open ports in order to play Ghost Recon Wild-lands. As advised by my router's manufacturer, I need to set a rule besides the port forwarding on my router. I'd like to avoid to totally disable my Firewall. I need to open the following ports for GRW.exe, and possibly Uplay.exe : TCP: 80,443,14000,14008,14020-14024 UDP: 3074-3083 My problem : I have trouble understanding what Custom Local Address and Custom Remote Address mean. Is Custom Local Address supposed to be my Gateway's (router) IP or my PC's IP ? Is Custom Remote Address supposed to be my Gateway's IP or my Public Internet IP ? Also, how come Custom Local Address only accepts a single port ? I'd really appreciate if you'd be explicit about it. Thanks in advance.
  8. The firewall is allowing all processes that need to use the internet full access, the only chance I can block it is by going to the rules section and denying access, correct me if I'm wrong but by then it's too late. Problem is that the app doesn't even appear in the rules section, I've had Opera and Chrome browsers open and there's no indication in the rules section that they've been given/denied access. I've set it to paranoid mode and it still wont ask me if I will allow anything access. It's a poor Firewall if you cant block stuff from accessing the internet. Windows 10 64bit
  9. allow tcp port on firewall for any application i use IIS web server, i want allow tcp port 8080
  10. Hello, So I've been having trouble figuring this out. My Bitdefender does not allow my ping booster (PingZapper) software to connect with my game via tunneling. If I disable my antivirus it works. If I disable Firewall, it has no effect. I've allowed the applications in my firewall settings ( the game and ping booster) , also changed my network/ethernet to trusted and stealth mode off and generic to on. ICMP set to allow as well. I'm not sure why the antivirus is the reason why I can't tunnel. It's somehow blocking the applications from communicating with each other. Can someone help me identify the problem? I've tried numerous methods in the firewall settings but nothing seems to work unless I disable my antivirus protection. Thank you,
  11. After upgrading the bdts 2017 to build 21.0.21.967 I no longer can add rules to firewall (block some exe) and instead get "Failed to communicate to with the bitdefender server security service". I noticed that the tray icon takes about a minute to appear - maybe this its normal, I dont know.
  12. The folder & files view is still tiny and alien. Poor UI design. why isn't it a standard Windows Explorer interface like most programs? That would make navigation so much easier and faster for me when setting rules and preferences. TY.
  13. Bitdefender 2017 installation erased my security settings without warning. Particularly the Firewall Rules. I had over 100 custom rules for the Firewall. All gone. No backup. These should be carried over automatically. Otherwise, provide the user a huge warning and option to cancel. Now I have to spend the first few hours of my work day, wasted, searching through each and every program to find the ones that need custom rules, and set them up.
Vielen Dank Thomas
  15. As stated in the title, Bitdefender Total Security 2017 blocks Plex from functioning. Specifically, it gives me firewall alerts that it has stopped port scans from my devices (Samsung smart TVs, Nvidia Shield, Samsung BD player) requesting access to the Plex server on my PC. The only way to make Plex function is to disable the "Block port scans on this network" option in the Bitdefender firewall settings module. This is not that big of a deal as my home network sits behind a Ubiquiti EdgeRouter™ PRO. Still, this is not the preferred operation of Bitdefender. Is Bitdefender planning a fix for this? The ability to open specific ports would be the logical solution. I have used Bitdefender for many years and it would be a shame to abandon it for another product with functional firewall capabilities.
  16. How can I disable checkpoint in Endpoint Security firewall?
  18. Hi My firewall settings changed from Home/Work to Public. I noticed that because Internet stopped working (Windows says Cant connect to Internet) That happened on both of my computers at same time. Interesting is that on another computer Internet was still OK, even with Ethernet setting on Public. I solved issue with restarting Windows. I have read that it is because Generic is set to OFF, and my IP is changed by my Internet provider as I don't have static IP. Bitdefender sets Generic to OFF when it auto configures on install. Should I change it on ON? Am I right that this is the reason (IP change-is it possible that my provider changes IP address while computers are connected, I guess so) After change to ON my settings will be Ethernet Stealth Off, Generic On Teredo Stealth Off, Generic On Is that ok? btw That another computer later also changed to public (another day) and Internet stopped working. When that happened there is only Etehrnet adapter present, no Teredo which comes back after reboot (and all on Home again) and I just looked at Ehternet settings, there was only Ethernet, on Home settings, but no Teredo. Then after a minute Teredo show up. But settins are ok. If this is indeed problem because of Generic set to Off instead on On, could Bitdefender team make default on On? Best regards!
  19. Hello! My Firewall was set as Private in Windows prior to Bitdefender installation. On both computers I own Bitdefender sets Firewall as Home, with these settings: Ethernet Stealth Off, Generic Off and Teredo (on screenshot is Local Area Connection* 10, on another computer is Teredo, that is the same as far as I understand) Stealth Off, Generic On. I have uploaded screenshot. So Generic is Off for Ethernet and On for Teredo. In topic ''What is Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-interface'' (link included at bottom of my post) it is the other way around. Teredo have Generic Off and Ethernet On. Which settings should I use? I am a little bit worried that Trusted setting (not Home/Office) and Stealth Off from Teredo adapter will be used somewhere where they should not be used, since Generic is On, or is that not possible? That other thread made me a little confused about these settings. On the other hand, I don't want to have to manage settings per application, I just want to let Bitdefender make their own decisions. Thanks!
  20. Firewall acting erratically once i turn paranoid Mode on, despite allowing it's blocking programs or auto-allowing them. Absolutely broken, nothing like BDIS 2015. I repaired, uninstalled, reinstalled. Nothing fixes it.
  21. Hi, I am looking at a few problems on my PC and spotted that the Bitdefender Firewall NDIS 6 driver is shown as missing. I have read reports this slows internet downloads and I have benn having problems with these including many ending up as corrupt. Can you supply a new driver please? Regards, Dave
  22. Hello Bitdefender, To start with I think that this feature has been requested for a fair long time by lots of your customers. I`m long time user (3 years) and BETA tester and after all these years I`m tired of always set especially Firewall and Exclusions settings after new version release or after reinstalling your product. What settings in my opinion need to be saved / exported: - Firewall settings - Antivirus Exclusions Best regards, Lukas
  23. Add more options to firewall rules (multiple IP/port blocking) for selected program or as general rule.
  24. I want to block Firefox to connect to a specific IP address and port. I have Firefox added in firewall rules (allow access), but how to configure the rule to block two different IP/Port addresses? I can not add another rule for firefox.exe, because it is already there. Is it possible and if it is how? Tnx!
  25. I recently upgraded to the Windows 10 anniversary and after a few hours of use I received 2 blue screens of death both gave me "KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE" and I talked to Microsoft support and the had me run Driver Verifier. Then after restart I immediately received a BSOD with DRIVER_VERIFIED_DETECTED_VIOLATION. I then proceeded to send Microsoft Support my DMP file and they verified that the BSOD was being caused by bdfwfpf.sys Firewall WFP Filter Driver from BitDefender. I really hope you guys can find a solution to this as soon as possible because I don't want to have to uninstall Bitdefender, as of right now I am running without the firewall and I haven't had a BSOD but only time will tell as to if I have to uninstall. My current version is Bitdefender 2016 Total Security See following link for MS Support thread: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware/help-with-bsod-dmp-file-attached/7a833907-5b59-403d-9c28-43a30e77e5f7
