I have read several messages about false positives when the Rosetta Stone V3 is scanned. BDIS 2009 does not register these false positives, but it does keep the Rosetta Stone from loading completely when the firewall is enabled. When enabled, Rosetta Stone stops with a database out of date error. After calling Rosetta Stones support, they had me delete the db and restart the program. Program partially loaded, then stopped. Seems this DB file holds the user data for the student. When the firewall is enabled, if the DB does not exist, it stops the program from creating it. If the file gets properly created by disabling the firewall, the RSv3 operates perfectly. Turn on the firewall, the database out of date error occurs, as the firewall seems to be stopping RS from reading it. Disabling the firewall repairs this error. System is a Sony Vaio laptop, with 2gb's ram, and Vista Home Premium SP1. I am surprised that it does not "play nicely" with a program that has been around as long as Rosetta Stone. BDIS may have gotten props from PC Magazine and Consumer Reports (which is why I switched from Symantec), but who knew that BDIS was so bug laden?
