I can't open the dashboard(advanced view), after I installed sql_server_2008(Developer edition),

I tried to reinstall the bitdefender several times with no success.

system: vista ultimate 32b(with sp1)
I also installed visual_studio_2008pro(with sp1)
and the sql_server_2008_Enterprise

if there's no sql_server exists, BD Works fine.

as I double_clicked the BD ico on the taskbar, a report wizard Poped up.

as I run it in the installation path (via "Run as administrator")
the report wizard pop up too !

I reported, but there's no response.

"seccenter.exe" process can't be started. so there's no "seccenter.exe" in the list of Task Manager, as I run it in the installation path (via "Run as administrator") a report wizard appeared

I use BitDefender Total Security 2009 Build 12.0.10.3 and im having the same problem.
At first everything worked perfectly, with Visual Studio 2008 SP1 installed.
But after installing SQL Server 2008 i cant open the security center, it just crashes everytime.
I've sent a submition with my email address in it.

Hi, I am having the same problem in two development seats.

Vista Business x64 with SP1, Spanish
BitDefender Internet Security 2009
VS 2008 Team System Test Edition with SP1
SQL Management Studio 2008 (Complete, no basic)

Everytime I try to open the Security Center, it crashes showing the report wizard.

I managed to open successfully the Security Center:
1.) Kill the seccenter.exe process from the Task Manager.
2.) Open the bdwizreg.exe located in the Bitdefender installation folder (C:\Program Files\BitDefender\BitDefender 2009)
3.) Fill up the wizard (is the same one that pops up after installing Bitdefender. Choose Basic View, not advanced.
4.) After closing the wizard, you can now open the Security Center.

Notes:
I think there is a problem with advanced View, because I first tried with it and needed to do the process again everytime I reboot. Last time, i choose Basic View, i have rebooted and the security center shows without opening the wizard.

Good luck!

I too am having the same exact problem!

- Vista Ultimate (x64)
- Visual Studio 2008 Team Suite w/ Service Pack 1
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Developer Edition
- BitDefender Internet Security 2009

After installing Microsoft SQL Server 2008, I started getting the crash report wizard popup. I have reproduced this behavior on two dev boxes now. I cannot go without VS 2008 or SQL Server 2008 as I use them every day for development purposes.

I tried uninstalling BitDefender Internet Security 2009 and reinstalling it, but I get an error message everytime I try to reinstall it, but the BitDefender installer displays an error message (see attached) related to assembly component {63E949F6-03BC-5C40-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E}. I'm assuming this is somehow related to Microsoft SQL Server 2008.

Also, after the failed installation attempt the event log shows the following error:
Product: BitDefender Internet Security 2009 -- Error 1935. An error occured during the installation of assembly component {63E949F6-03BC-5C40-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E}. HRESULT: 0x800736FD. assembly interface: IAssemblyCacheItem, function: Commit, assembly name: policy.8.0.Microsoft.VC80.CRT,publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",version="8.0.50727.762",processorArchitecture="x86",type="win32-policy"

Guille - If you delete all files/folders under %user%\AppData\Roaming\BitDefender\ you will be able to load the security center. But at this point, I cannot even reinstall BitDefender at all.

I have contact BitDefender Customer Support and they have escalated the issue. I am still waiting for a respose...

Has anyone found a resolution to this problem?

My setup is nearly identical to above, except I have Visual Studio 2008 Professional with SP1. SQL Server 2008 Developer x64 on Windows Vista Ultimate x64. Same problem, only on advanced view. This seems to only affect the advanced GUI -- the basic GUI and the other components and services seem to work unaffectedly.

Hit me up if there is ever found a resolution to this.
