finally figured it out after a day of frustration, in bitdefender 2008 int security under pc security protected button if real time protection (p2p and file access) is unchecked here but left on under settings no more freezing. It was freezing like clockwork every 5 min without fail if downloads in utorrent where not paused, now its 14 hrs no probs.
not sure why there are two buttons for real time protection and why it still appears to be running with one shut off , assuming utorrent probably has a setup option to fix it but dont understand p2p connections enough, but definitely not happy having part of my AV shut off any ideas for a better fix out there ?

i have Vista Ultimate SP1 with latest updates, the latest version of µtorrent and the latest version and updates of Bitdfender Total Security 2009
after few minute, the computer is freezing .....
temporary solution = uncheck "Bitdefender Firwall NDIS Filter Driver" in internet connection... probleme is solved but the firewall is now stopped =(
