I registered to the Beta but i have to say that the registration process it's missing something: when you register you are asked to tell what other security solutions you have installed...well, as i have only SuperAntispyware Free as on-demand and it's not included in that list, the options None and Not listed should be added.

I also registered, but my other security software was included in that list

Vladx is right, that option should be added.

The option will be added as soon as possible. Thanks for the feed-back.

but weren't there supposed to be only other AV solutions ? Or at least only other security suites?
Mixing anti-spywares with anti-viruses and so on doesn't make sense to me.

No, only security solutions was mentioned.

The drop menu was put there to help us know what type of other security solutions do you use, for different reasons, one of them is to enhance the compatibility between these types of solutions.

I guessed that Florin, i was just telling pykko that it wasn't reffering only to other AVs or security suites, but any security software.

Jun 7 2007, 05:34 PM
@Pykko: why it should be only AV software? Do you have 2 AV installed?
I have to agree with Florin Stiuca.

I have registered yesterday, but I haven't received the confirmation e-mail yet. Shouldn't I have received it in about 10 sec after registering?
EDITED: My account is on and running.

However, I haven't received the confirmation e-mail...

By the way, is BitDefender Total Security 2008 different then the current BD products? In other words, after BETA testings are over, will I need to buy a new license to use it, or I can use my current BD 10 IS code?

Yes you can use any earlier code starting from v9 to upgrade to 2008 version.

I can't give you any info before the beta starts

Maybe I'll give you a little teaser, we shall see.

I don't know how vladx knows about the licensing code, but maybe he is right, after all he is our "star" from our previous beta.

I'll give you some more info tomorrow.

Very nice Florin Stiuca, this looks all very good and really promising! And I'm surely going to participate in the upcoming BETA! It's not for the games neither the consoles but for the quality of BitDefender. I have been submitting bugs and such since v9, but alright not with this name though. Again, I'm really looking forward to the new BETA and you guys will surely get feedback from me! Keep up the good work BitDefender-Team!

I hope they've rewritten it from the ground up. Current GUI's were just recolored versions of BitDefender 7 interface. And honestly it was horribly full of bugs and problems.

I hope so. I really feel this is the year that Bitdefender comes from running in the pack, to running at the front of the pack. Between us, it is time to assist them in doing so.

They're probably working hard to release it today, but if it's not uploaded for 2 or 3 more hours, it probably won't be today.
@boreas: Yes, it seems it'll replace the Internet Security suite.

Does this mean:
1) Prices will rise for the Internet Security and Total Security edition?
2) Will the Internet Security edition replace BitDefender Professional Plus/AntiVirus Plus, or is the AV Plus line going to be discontinued?
Hehe, will be interesting to test this new version though. Also have quite a load of samples waiting to be sent for analysis
