Hi,
I am using a Dell Inspiron 6000 computer with WinXP-SP3 and BitDefender Antivirus 2008 Build 11.0.17. I have 2GB of RAM and I use this computer for electronics design and simulations. I use a suite of tools from Silvaco. Whenever I run some analysis using these tools they get terribly slowed down by the Antivirus. The process listing shows about 98% usage for "svchost.exe" and does not let my tool use any CPU thereby slowing down my work. I have to open the Antivirus settings every time and disable the "Real Time protection" so that I can run these tools. When the Antivirus is disabled the tool runs smooth. Is there any way I can tell Bitdefender to exclude these EXE files so I can still have the antivirus run while doing my work?

Thanks
Umesh

I think that you can add the path of "Silvaco" to the Exception list of BitDefender.
You should update to BitDefender 2009 version wink.gif
