Hi all
I have recently moved my entire small office network to Bitdefender, using client professional, BD for file servers and the BD managemebnt console.
All network users are now experiencing problems, primarily when saving documents (excel, html, word, jpegs, photoshop etc) to network drives...basically the program in question tells them they cant save and a temp file has been created, but if you try saving again, the document will save. If I disable BD on the client or stop it scanning all files, the documents save without worry.
So what is the problem here?
I have tried adding extention exceptions (.xls;.xlt;.doc;.jpg;.jpeg;.htm;.html) and still we experience these problems.
Can anyone shed some light on this issue?

Hi Mat,
Take a look at this topic:

I just excluded .tmp files and that "appears" to work. This is still not what I would call an effective fix though, having to exclude files from scanning seems counter-productive.

Hi Mat,
You are right and I agree with you.
However, I am sure that BitDefender team si already working on this (since it was already reported). I am not using Office 2007 (I'm using Office XP) and I'm not saving the files on a network, so I never had this problem and I can't suggest any other solution.
Ignoring from scan the .tmp files is just a temporary solution. It will, eventually, be fixed.

Ok - seems like my problem has not gone away. On the clients, I have the exclusions set up like this:
.tmp;.xls;.xlt;.csv;.doc;.htm;.html;.eps;.psd;.jpeg;.jpg;.gif
Have I got the exclusions set up correctly? Are you supposed to have the dot infront of the extension?

I got also similar problems. Its a very big fight with bd firewall , i get the feeling that it was added during the night to the back.
When i try to access the comp that has bd firewall from an other com from my home network. The one that has bd freezes and i have to reset it. This happens everytime. I cant save anyting nor copy
And still the firewall trafic showing and ip last digits turning to 0 (zero) goes on. I did read almos all topics in this forum about adding rules and did try them all but zero..... zero zero... aaaarrrgggghhh
Im going to return this to the shop and install back my old one if i cant fix it....
Hi everyone - still having a problem when saving files to the network, in particular Excel 2000/2003 files. Has there been a fix for this as yet?
