Full Version: Bitdefender 2009 Will Not Show Main Screen

I have downloaded the BitDefender 2009 trial for my Windows Vista SP1 machine and I am having a problem where I can not get the BD main screen to show up after boot. The task bar icon is there and I can interact with it (get the product to update, etc.) but when I click on "Show" or double click the task bar icon or double click the desktop icon nothing happens. BD appears to be running correctly in the services area of Windows Vista, but I just can not get it to show the BitDefender program. Any ideas how to correct this?

Others have reported seeing the same issue as described here...

I experienced it earlier as well.
Please try some reboots. That helped for me

Or you could trying restarting the process seccenter.exe (Kill the process and launch it again)
Doing this is much easier with process explorer:

This issue was reported in RC1
tut tut....Bitdefender have to learn that a late release is better than a buggy one.

I'll have the exact same issue since last week, and so far I haven't had any response from tech support sucks...not an autoreply or nothing. Anyways when i try to Access bitdefender the computer windows comes up blank, actually grey but no buttons, links or gui's nothing. Does anyone know If I can change my subscription back to bitdefdender 2008?

I think that I may have gotten it working. What I did was uninstall the program using add/remove programs in Windows, then use the BitDefender uninstall utility (www.bitdefender.com/uninstall) and then I re-downloaded the setup program and ran setup again. I did this about a week ago and it did not fix anything, but I think that they have updated the software to fix this issue...either that or I am just lucky.

Give it a try.

I've already contacted support. They gave me a link to redownload the program and to uninstall bitdefender copleteley through windows remove programs and bitdefender uninstall tool.

I installed the latest installer package and still the main screen won't show up.

Try on VISTA SP1 logoff then logon dont reboot

Try to remove VGA card setup, restart, then try to open the main menu of BitDefender.

Hi!

If you choose to get a refund, they seem to be very responsive in that regard. I recently bought 15 licenses of BD 2009 and ran into so many problems that I uninstalled and asked for a refund.
They took care of it in a couple days smile.gif
