Does BitDefender support quad processor cores? If not, how many does it support?

Hello QuizPC,
It should work without any issues. But if BitDefender will take really advantage off quad core abilities is something different.
Kind regards,
Niels

Everything works with a quad core processor.
Could you ask one of the developers if they have added quad-core support for the software? It all depends on the software itself. Cores are never used at random. I'd like to know how many cores it was developed to use. Take for example AVG -- it takes advantage of multiple cores because it was written to do so.
A side question now. How long would it approximately take for BitDefender 2008 to scan a 500GB hard drive with a Core 2 Quad Q9450 with 8GB of 1066MHz RAM?

Hello Quizpc,
I will try to ask it. But personally I only think the BitDefender 2008 products are only developped with single and dual core processors in mind. The chance is very little that there already was quad core.
Scan time depends also how many archives are located on your hard disk together with the amount off system restore points and if your doing different things (I mean running other software. So you can't give just a time that it should take.Another thing you should consider is which type off scan you want to perform? Deep scan, full scan, quick scan.
Kind regards,
Niels
