I bought bitdefender about 6 months ago. I have 2 computers, windows Vista (laptop) and Windows XP (my desktop). Everything works fine on my vista, but on my XP Bitdefender Firewall never worked correctly.
I just gave up trying after a while, but now that I formatted my computer, I wanna give it another try to get it working again, since I wanna keep my computer clean for a while now
Anyhow, the problem is that my internet crashes/stops working when bitdefender firewall is running when I start MSN or µtorrent. Internet crashing I refer to my router just crashing, not accessible anymore through my desktop. So not only my connection to the outside crashes, but also my router entirely. When my router crashes I'm also not able to internet on my laptop. After a while (~ 1 min) my router boots again, and everything works fine for about 5 min, until the problem repeats itself.
Please do ask me to reinstall Bitdefender 2008, I already tried that before I formatted my pc, multiple times, deinstaller tool, didn't work.
Before I wrote this post I did some searching myself and I try a couple of fixes;
1) When disabling the NDIS Driver on my networking card, the problem fixes. But then ofcourse, my firewall is down, and I payed for that.
2) I tried installing; http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?s=&...ost&p=10846 . It didn't work, it even got worse. From now on, I couldn't even connect to the internet anymore. It was just all broken.
So I disabled NDIS Driver once again, and tried this one;
3) I tried doing this patch; http://kb.bitdefender.com/KB391-en--Firewa...vity-issue.html .
For some reason I couldn't reanble the firewall, nor the firewall driver. So I booted up in safe mode and enabled it there, that worked.
After doing all the three steps, I could access the internet again and the firewall was working. Only the little panel where you can monitor the IN and OUT traffic of your internet, was broken. I kept saying 0 kb/s, while I'm pretty sure I downloaded (legally ofcourse) err... a demo from the internet.
Anyhow, I went to BD Online support, and they told me this problem was just a visual problem, and that my firewall worked fine.
But, when I started my MSN yesterday, kabeim, my internet crashed again, just like before I did the 3 steps.
