DylanT
Hi,

I've been searching for leads on this issue and not got far, though I have seen others with similar issues, so I am asking the forum direct, is there any steps I can take to prevent the rash of crashes I am experiencing with sockspy.dll?

Any internet-aware app that I start will usually cause an error with sockspy.dll. Usually it only happens first time I start the app, but sometimes it happens more frequently. I get about 3-5 of these crashes per day.

I am running Bitdefender v10 build 247 on Windows XP Media Centre Edition. Only started experiencing this a lot in the last month or so, Bitdefender has been fine before that.

Dear DylanT,

I deleted your other topic.

First cight click on the red BitDefender icon near the system clock press on exit. Afterwards press the windows button together with r now type %windir%\system32\ press enter. Delete the sockspy.dll file. Now put in your installation cd-rom or run the the installer that you have downloaded and perform a repair installation. Reboot your pc and see if the problem still occurs. If that still is the case exit BitDefender and download and run this uninstall tool. Run it and install afterwards BitDefender again. Are you using the free version of BitDefender Antvirus 10? If it is a paid version you can upgrade for free to BitDefender Antivirus 2008 which doesn't use sockspy.dll.

Best regards
Niels
