Hi,

I like very much Bit Defender Internet Security v10 Build 247, I am still in 30 days trial! I couldn't find a place to buy it, so I bought Bit Defender Intenet Security 2008 3 computers/ 2years/ Staples/Canada.

Question: can I use the key from Bit Defender Intenet Security 2008 to activate Bit Defender Internet Security v10 Build 247? Normally, if you are allowed to upgrade you should be also allowed to downgrade rolleyes.gif

Thanks,Claudiu
Cris
Hello Claudiu,

Unfortunately, the license key for the 2008 series cannot be used for previous versions sad.gif

You can try to contact LiveAssistance (Customer Care section) and see if they can give you some solution.

Hi Cris,

I contacted Live Suport and in less than 3 hours they issued a new key for v10 wub.gif Two more questions and I am done for this week:
1.when I try to register (e-mail and password) it says that cannot connect to server (6 times so far)
2.I want to do a clean reinstall (winxp , bitDefender and the rest) If I remove Bitdefender and install it again on the same computer it will count like one installation or two? (I have license for 3 computers/2 years)

Thanks,
Claudiu

Maybe BitDefender is blocked, by your firewall, to connect to the internet. The module used for registration is bdwizreg.exe. Check your firewall to see if this module is allowed to connect.

For BitDefender Firewall (the one included in BitDefender Internet Security), go to BitDefender Management Console -> Firewall -> Traffic, click Edit Profile and look, in both lists, for the process bdwizreg.exe. If the rule says Blocked, double click it and change the Action to Allowed.

If you have other firewall installed and active on your computer, check also the rules for that firewall.

However, it is recommended that you keep only one firewall active one your computer. This also includes the Windows Firewall (which has to be disabled). Keeping multiple firewalls active might cause system instability and even offer less protection.

The licenses refer to computers, not the number of installs/reinstalls.
In other words, you can reinstall it as many times you want, as long as you don't reinstall it on more computers than the number written on your license key (in your case, 3).
