Hi everyone,

I've got BitDefender Antivirus 2008 installed. According to several threads in these forums (like for example this, this and this) the BitDefender icon in the System Tray should change its color when a module gets deactivated. Well, it should. For me it doesn't. Here's how the icon looks all the time:

It doesn't change when one module is inactive neither does it when two or three are. I wanted to provide you with the version number of my BitDefender Antivirus to aid you in getting rid of this behaviour, however the only remotely interesting number I've found so far is the engine version which is 7.17086. Maybe it helps.

How can I let the BitDefender icon change its color when modules are inactive?

Greetings,

Sven

Dear Sven,

You can't enable that option. For some reason the colour now doesn't change anymore you have to see it when you take a look in the BitDefender Security Center or on the BitDefender scanactivity bar. You are right it was there in the previous versions. Maybe Softwin (BitDefender) will add that functionality again.

Best regards

Hi Niels,

thanks for your answer and for clearing this up. I've posted a feature request here in the appropriate forum. Maybe the developers re-introduce this feature. Personally I'd like that.

Dear Sven,

You are welcome. I also found it a nice feature and still find it a usefull option. The problem now is that you have to open BitDefender to see the status. I will also contact somebody that works for Softwin.

Best regards
Niels
