Ameritrade is an online brokerage firm which interfaces with the various stock exchanges to provide real time price and volume information on over 10,000 stocks.

They use java program to open another java program that accesses the data streams form the exchanges. BD 2008 wouldn't allow the connection to take place and the progam hung up.

I contacted Ameritrade and the had identified BD 2008 as an incompatible program. I contacted BD tech support and they weren't able to resolve the issue. Here is the [Ticket ID:200801041009293] BitDefender Internet Security 2008. I haven't responded to the ticket yet.

I liked the program so well, I spent some time trying to find a solutions since the Ameritrade program is very important to me. The problem was solved when I turned off the "parental controls", and it is working fine.

After you resolve this issue I suggest you contact Ameritrade and let them reevaluate your product.
In order for them to have identified DB 2008 as a problem program, the must have had quite a few trouble calls about it.
