Hello and welcome, as it is my first post on this forum!

I've bought BD Antivirus 9 Standart over a year ago. Later on I've upgraded it to BD10.

About 2 weeks ago my license expired. I am running somthing, that is often called a "wooden PC", so (to save my system resources) I went to the shop and bought BD9Standart again, as there was no possibility to get a "renewal kit" in my region.

When I tried to type my "fresh" serial number in "Registration Wizard" something like this promped (its translated from Polish): This key is not dedicated to this version. No wonder - BD10 onboard!

I've uninstalled BD10 from Start menu and installed BD9Standart with CD from the BOX.
After reboot, when I tried to register again, my old key was still visible, and still the wizard refused to accept my "fresh key" (This key is not dedicated to this version).

Next step was to use BDUninstallerTool - same effect sad.gif
Now i don't know what to do - ran out of ideas sad.gif

Please, give me any suggestions. The key from BD9 is refused by BD9 RegWizzard sad.gif
Maby junk in the windows registry still suggests that it is BD10? But after reinstalation?? sad.gif

Looking forward to Your help!
My girlfriend has the same problem sad.gif

Best wishes form Poland, and huge sorry for my English - I hope the "plot" of this story is understandeble wink.gif

Hello luslom,

Unfortunately, we cannot offer too much support on this forum ,regarding license and registration. Please contact LiveAssistance (Customer Service) and they should be able to answer your question. smile.gif

Oh...and don't worry about your English. It's fine. wink.gif

Hello Cris!

I followed your advice. This day is the 6th day with absolute no answer form BD Support :/
So much for "24h response time" :/ They left me with nothing sad.gif

Best wishes.
Cris
I'm sorry to hear that... sad.gif

Did you have a chat session with someone? Or the service was offline and you sent an email?

If it was offline, try again and see if you can chat with someone (there are some times when the service is offline, but most of the times, it should be online).

The only thing that I can advice is that you try again with LiveAssistance (if you already got a TicketID, tell that ID to the person who answers you on LiveAssistance. It will work faster).

On this forum, the BitDefender Evangelists (including me) are only volunteers. We can offer support about different problems, but license and registration issues are out of our hands, because we don't know how it works. So... the only ones who can help you are either LiveAssistance, either the SuperModerators (who work for BitDefender).

Dear Cris - I'm very gratefull for Your help and advices in my case!
Thank You for "putting your heart" in it, but now good news - the problem is solved!

You can start laughing by now - just hold on to your chair biggrin.gif

I've bought BD9AV online just before New Year. After 01.01.2008 I had to go back to my studies in different town, so when package came to my home I asked my brother to open the box and give me te S/N.

During all those days only one thing was on my mind. "This S/N is not dedicaded to this product".
Yesterday something came over my mind - I've phoned my brother again.... I was right... I was sent BD INTERNET SECURITY instead of BD AV (x2, for me and my gf). And the only difference between them is a small sign in the top right corner of the BOX, so my little brother haven't noticed that!

I made a call to the shop - they were sorry and told me to keep the BD IS as they were both unpacked...

I'm very sorry for messing up Your mind with my "problem".
Once again best wishes from me, my brodher, AND my gf biggrin.gif
Cris
Well... now this is something that I would have never thought of laugh.gif

I'm glad that this was the "big" problem that you had. Enjoy your BD Internet Security.

Best wishes to you, your brother and your gf. biggrin.gif
