Full Version: Upgrading From Bd Is V10 To 2008

I was waiting for my other subscription to end before installing BD IS v10. Now that I have installed it I found out with the AV real-protection on, my computer becomes extremely slow. It took 10minutes to do the startup routine when it usually takes only 1 minute. I believe I read on this forum that the 2008 version doesn't have this problem.

The question is do I first have to register with the v10 then upgrade to 2008 or can I just uninstall v10, install 2008 then register.

Another question, on the box it said Protects 2PC's for 2 years. I wanted to to double check that the 2 years begins when I register the key for the first PC and that if I register the second PC later it would not get a 2 year from that new date of installation.

It doesn't matter, because it works the same both ways.

This is my suggestion:
- download BD Uninstall Tool
- use the above tool to remove BitDefender v10 from your computer
- download and install BitDefender IS 2008
- if you already have the key, register BD 2008. Otherwise, make the trial (and when you decide to buy it, you can just insert the key...no reinstallation needed).

The licensing period is independent on each computer. So if you install (and register) BitDefender on one PC today, and install (and register) BitDefender on the 2nd PC after 2 months, the registration period will be equal for both PCs (so the BD from the 2nd PC will still work 2 more months after the 1st one expired).
