Greetings!

I have been using Bitdefender AV 2008 and Zonealarm Internet Security Suite 7 together for a while and they are running fine. Previously I had the blue screen of death issue with KAV 7 and ZISS 7 together and even after removing both it didnt solve the problem. I had to system Restore and then I installed BD AV 2008 and ZISS 7 on my HP notebook (Core 2 Duo 1.73 GHz, 512 RAM).

1. How should I configure BD AV 2008 with ZISS 7? Basically I want BD 2008 to run just as an antivirus and ZISS 7 to handle the firewall related stuff (I turned off the built in AV in ZISS). Currently I turned off options like identity/privacy control, email scanning, http scan, antiphishing etc in BD AV because ZISS is already configured in a way to cover those thongs. Is there anything in pacticular which I should do and if I turn ON the above mentioned options, will it still be compatible with ZISS 7?

2. BD AV 2008 is not slowing down the PC, but I guess it would have worked faster if I had more RAM (?). Currently my AV settings are on the max, but i was wondering is there any perticular settings which I should uncheck so it uses up a bit less resource? (eg, the identity/antiphshing/privacy control options etc, which I want ZISS to handle).

3. Is there any compatibility issue with BD AV 2008 and SpySweeper + Spyware Doctor running together?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

Hello, Protik!

First of all, it is not recommanded using 2 security suites. It may cause big trouble (you see what KAV + ZA caused).

However, here are some tips you can use to optimise your PC performace: (you said you use BD AV 2008, which doesn't have a firewall included)

1. Disable the built in AV of ZA (which you have already did)
2. If you know that some folders are clean, you can add them to the exception list.
3. You can also set the maximum file-size that BD should scan. Default is 20000KB (~ 20MB)
4. You may set de Protection Level of BD AV to Default

For your last question, I don't think there are known incompatiblities between BD and SpySweeper/SpyWare Dcotor, but you should only use these to make on-demand scan, and siable any real-time protection that they have.
