Since installing I'm having some problems with two programs (Remote Desktop and XBOX Media Sharing). I believe port forwarding in the firewall would resolve this problem, but I can't seem to forward just an IP to a port, seems to want an app?

Scan Activity Bar is disabled, but keeps showing up on my desktop? Am I missing something?

I should mention I have BitDefender Total Security 2008 - Build 11.0.15 using Vista Business.

Thanks all!

Hi 'tonydotigr'

Could you perhaps give me a heads up please on you how you manage to get RDP working through BF.
I installed BF total Security 3 days ago at home, I have been battling eversins to be able to connect remotely to my office Desktop.
I tried to add the New zone using the IP of my office desktop, but BF don't allow that.
I tried to go to Rules, and add mstsc.exe (windows RDC) but BF still doesn't allow the outbound connection.

I know the problem is within BF, since when I turn off the Firewall in BF settings, I can connect without trouble, as soon as I turn the firewall on, i just can't connect.

PLEASE help!
Thank you

Be sure to allow incoming/outgoing port 3389.

Hello tonydotigr,

First of all, sorry for the late reply.

This is not true. When you create a rule, you have the possibility to select All applications and enter a specific port/IP. However, the port(s) that you want to allow might already be blocked by other rules. Take a look at this topic: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=3679

Also, another solution might be adding the IP(s) as Trusted Zone(s) in the Zones tab.

I've tested this, and it doesn't appear that I have this problem. Could you tell me how did you disable the Activity Bar, and when exactly does it appear back?

Cris.
