I have just installed this program, I am getting very upset. Evertime I open the program there are alway from 3-8 problems with my security, one minute its working the next it isnt. Most of the time its these. Real time protection, disabled Identity control disabled Firewall disabled Stealth disabled. When I click on the fix now it wont do anything.Do I turn off windows firewall and antivirus? Should I install this program again. I have one trojan in my deleted bin, but it said no action can be done. How do I go about removing this please. I would appreciate any help, very frustrated at this point, this is my first time buying this product for $70.00 ph34r.gif

Tekolynne, while waiting for Neils or one of the other BitDefender experts to answer, I wonder if you might try doing a "Repair," if that option is available. I suppose it is possible that a file got corrupted or something, and a "repair" might help. Or, wait for Neils's advice. I'm sure you'll get it working properly. Just hang on! smile.gif

Thank you for taking the time to answer me. Look forward to hearing form someone. I did try repair, but the same problem always comes back. Was going to reinstall but wanted to use the program for daughters pc. So i thought if i uninstalled it on mine then installed it again it would count as two pcs ??
and it is good for three machines.

Dear tekolynne

I suggest that you try this reboot your pc into safe mode by just rebooting your computer. Press several times on the F8 button before the windows loading screen select safe mode and press enter. Log in with your account. Right click on your recycle bin and choose for empty (all). After that go to start,my computer,go to the tools menu, folder options, view (display),uncheck hide operating system files (confirm the windows message) and check show hidden files and folders press on apply and ok. Double click on the icon of your hard disc (partition) where windows is installed on. You will now find a folder called recycler open it and open the subfolder and delete only the content. I recommend that you do this also right click on my computer, choose properties, click on the system restore tab and check the option disable system restore on all stations confirm the message and press on apply and ok. Wait till you see disabled. Once that happens uncheck disable system restore on all stations and press on apply and ok.

After that go to start, run, type services.msc press enter.
Double click on each service that has BitDefender in the name:
BitDefender Communicator startup type should be set on automatic if not change it and press on apply.
Only the BitDefender Threat Scanner should be set on demand. The other BitDefender services should also be set on automatic.

If that still fails uninstall BitDefender by using this tool. But first close BitDefender by right clicking on the red BitDefender icon near the system clock and press on exit. Reboot your pc and install again.

If you install it on 2 pc's it counts only as 2. If you have a multi boot system that counts also as 1 pc or laptop. You have still 1 install left for getting updates.

Best regards
Niels
