Hello all,

I have just installed Bitdefender Total Security to trial. The other PC has Zonelabs Internet Security installed. Since putting Bitdefender on my PC, the PC I am on, shows the other as being offline when using Network Magic.

Any ideas??

Cheers

Very strange this one.
I had to uninstall Total Security 2008. Reason being, I wanted to check what day my wifes birthday is on in 2008, this made my trial license expire and i couldn't sort it out. I then downloaded the Internet Security 2008 and installed it. The PC's both show as being ONLINE on the home network.

Very odd.

If anyone has an explanation for this I would love to hear it as I wouldn't have thought that the firewall on either suites would be different to the other one.

Cheers

Hmmmmm,

Now for some reason the Internet Security 2008 is now showing the 2 PC's as OFFLINE in Network Magic. I did a full system scan and got a popup message saying something about ports being blocked.

Any ideas??

Dear Phil66

That could be because the stealth mode is enabled in the firewall section. Open BitDefender click on settings once you are in the BitDefender Security Center. Go to the firewall section, click on the advanced tab and uncheck stealth mode and press on exit.

Thanks that sorted it. The "CRITICAL WARNING" makes me alittle paranoid though lol

Dear Phil66

Glad that I could help you. If that annoys you please do this click on the critical warning message in the BitDefender Security center and uncheck the box that you will find in the front of stealth mode and press on close (exit).

Best regards
