Hi,
I have installed 2008 on a fresh Vista Home Premium box and get Security event log entries for event 5038 on file bdselfpr.sys. It causes the PC to be unusable for quite a while during/after boot.
I saw somebody post the same issue in the French BD forums, however, my French isn't THAT good.
Does anybody else have that issue and/or know how to fix it? I tried the repair option already.

Dear Hackenbush
This isn't a really necessary program part. It only denies to disable BitDefender by killing the BitDefender processes in task manager. I recommend that you try this press the windows button together with r now type devmgmt.msc press enter now go to the display (view) menu and click on show hidden devices now you will see and entry called non plug and play compatible drivers double click on the BDSelfPr entry choose disabled go to the driver tab and press on stop and type disabled press now on ok. Try a repair installation once again. If that fails right click on BDSelfPr click on remove (uninstall). Perform a complete new install by
first using
this tool. Run it and reboot your pc and install BitDefender once again.
Best regards
Niels
