Full Version: Bitdefender Turns My Computer Into A Brick!

Alright, so I am building a new computer and everything is fine until I install bitdefender total security x64. I go through the installation and when it tells me to restart, I restart... problem is, is that I can never get back into my OS (which is XP x64). It just keeps cycling through the post and some of the XP loading bar but that is it. I contacted the tech people at bitdefender but no one has gotten back to me. I really want to give bitdefender the benefit of the doubt but I am tired of reformatting and reinstalling my OS.

I know it's not any third party programs messing up the install since bitdefender is the first program that is installed (even before I connect to the internet)... the only thing that I load up are the drivers for the mobo.

If anyone can help, it would greatly be appreciated!

Thanks,
Buhby

Dear buhby

Try this press after that BIOS screen several times on the F8 button till you get into advanced startup menu. First select load last working configuration and press enter. If you still aren't able to boot into windows do the same thing but select safe mode now and press enter. Log on with your account uninstall BitDefender or load a previous system restore point. To see what the problem could have caused do this go to start, run, type eventvwr press enter. Now open the system and application logbooks sort them on errors and take a look at the description on the events that took place at the moment the troubles started.

Best regards
Niels
