I'm trying to install bitdefender antivirus plus v10 on my laptop. It goes fine until the status goes "Starting Services." and it will not go any farther. The whole computer just freezes. It's the new Asus G1-AS laptop with Vista Home Premium 32 bit. Any suggestions?

I recommend that you download and run this specific uninstaller first. Reboot your pc afterwards. Rightclick on the installer click on run as administrator.
Did you first removed any pre installed security software? If not follow these instructions. You can upgrade for free to BitDefender Internet Security 2008 if you want. What is the version number of the installer it must be 10.2.xxx and few other numbers? To check that rightclick on the installer and choose properties,version. The 2008 line has a better vista support.
