Hello
I am new to bitdefender, I have installed bitdefender on a single pc, everything seems to work except the firewall. This will not turn on. When I try I get the message "failed to initialize BitDefender Firewall drivers. Firewall disabled"
Can anyone please help me with this.
Thanks
Niels

Dear Bigplant
Welcome to the BitDefender user forums.
Go to start, run, type devmgmt.msc press enter Go to the display (view) menu click on display (show) hidden devices. Now you will find an entry called non plug and play compatible drivers now double click on the entry called bdftdif the device should be enabled now press on driver the status should be started and type should be system if not change it and press on ok.
Best regards
Niels

I get the same firewall error after my computer has been on for a while. I get the same message "failed to initialize BitDefender Firewall drivers. Firewall disabled" with a red X in the Net Zone and the only way I can get it to turn back on is to reboot.
I tried the "bdftdif" solution but it was already started and type was system .
Any ideas?

Dear LeRoy
I recommend that you disable bdftdif in device management put in the installation cd-rom or double click on the installer and perform a repair installation.

I'm getting the same problem and tried the solution but it doesn't work. Any other ideas? This program is useless without the firewall.
