I have the same issue. I kept hearing a chime sound and could not understand what was causing it. According to Event Viewer its the "BDSelfPr failed to start" error.
Am using WinXP 64bits.
I am pretty shocked over the age of this problem. If this is not addressed til my subscription runs out (74 days), I will not be using BitDefender again, that's for sure!
PS
The support is REALLY bad. If I hit support I have to go through this awful website, and id the "issue" selection does not have my problem what am i to do? There is no "general help" or "other" selection!
I have the same issue, Home Premium 64 bit, seems Bitdefender support is not too concerned with the issue. Sent them the error and have not heard back. Researched anti-virus products and this one came up consistently number 1 or 2 in all lists, not so sure I agree. Support sucks, their scanning engine miss-identified 5 files from Power DVD and flagged them as infected which rendered Power DVD uselesss to play blu-ray disks. I had to unistall the program, install again from CD from Dell, turn off real-time scanning, then had to exclude them from scanning, what a pain. Their updater kept hanging and would not let me have access to the console, sent that report in, have not heard back, finally after re-booting a few times the thing started working I guess.
Knowledge base?????? What knowledge
Unfortunatley, I just bought the product but may have to dump it, luckily only paid $20. nuff said
