Hi there--

When I first installed BDF (I have Internet, not Plus), I would get a little gold shield pop up on my task bar, next to the BDF red icon, with a little window to click on it, that Microsoft Updates were due. I haven't seen that in several weeks, or more.

I also have my Whitelist on "Ask" value, and I notice I'm not getting asked about anything. It seems these might be related, but I don't know.

Can you tell me if there's something I need to check to see if I've interferred with anything? Or explain why I'm not seeing these things anymore?

Go to start,right click on my computer,automatic updates,automatic should be selected and you can check the 3rd option (I am not using an English windows version) press on ok. When there are important updates you will see a pop-up. Keep in mind that it can take some time when you see the pop-up again. You better check the windows update manually by going to start,programs,windows update.

PERFECT, Neils. Thanks. The third option (assuming Auto Updates is selected) is "Do not auto-update) but the 3rd option (counting Auto Updates) was not selected, which says "Ask me to update." So that was probably why I wasn't seeing any sign of them. I never changed that, and used to get the little shield icon, so I have no clue how it de-selected itself, ;-) But let's see how it pans out. I kind of like seeing when it is updating or to pick my own time for update sessions.
