Full Version: How To Unload Bd From Memory

Greetings. How does one completely shutdown Bit Defender Total Security? I have selected the 'Exit' from the menu but when I try and run an .exe program that I know is safe it denies me access to the .exe file ( Reports it as a virus). What names in the Task Manager window of Windows XP Pro should I select and end the process so that I can get access to my .exe file or is there a way in the BD menu that will completely unload BD Total Security from my system processes?
Thanks for your help
Niels
Hello Jan

If you really wanted to run that particular tool you have to make an execption. Doubleclick on the red BitDefender icon press on settings go to antivirus, exceptions, press on the add button which looks like a folder icon select path and folow the steps and browse to the location and press on finish. That is better then closing BitDefender.

Best regards

Hello Jan,

An even better solution then what Niels said is to put the false-positive (the file that is detected as infected) in a zip file protected by the password infected and attach the zip file to a new topic in the Malware section. A BD Virus Analyst will take a look at it and detection of that file will be completely removed. wink.gif

Cris.
P.S.: Don't get me wrong...Niels' suggestion is very good. But reporting this false-positive could also help other users with this same problem.

Hello Cris

Thanks for correcting me. But I personally think that in this case the program itself is legit but can be misused. So the virus researchers will not disable the signature.

Best regards
