Seems when doing deep scans or full scans that i'll come back to a hard lock, all i can do is move the curser. this is happening in windows xp pro with sp2 installed.

quick scans i don't believe cause this same problem, so it could be the length of the scan that's the problem or perhaps the areas being scanned. maybe some sort of memory leak?

thi9s happens on schedule scans as well as ones i start manually.

it doesn't happen everytime, but easily 80% or more of the time.

I have a similar problem but haven't been able to establish the pattern so far. I only run scheduled quick system scans and it happens there too. Not every time, but at least half of the times, I find the scan window displaying the scan results (No threats found) but window itself isn't responding and I can't close it unless I kill the process.

i can't even close it. i'll come back to the system with it still showing that it's scanning, but as soon as i click something it locks up, cursor moves but nothing responds, no ctrl+alt+del or anything.

Hello Brandito

Is the latest file/folder still listed when the scan is freezing at the end? If that is the case you can exclude that folder or file.
By right clicking on the scan you wanted to perform choose change scan path press on add new folder or file browse press on open. Uncheck it press on ok. The best thing is also contact live support so they can see why the scan got stuck. You can contact them here. Press on the image of the girl choose customer service.

Best regards
Niels

unfortunately i have the scan set to stay in the tray while scanning, and since it hard locks i can't bring the window up.

i'm going to run the scan manually right now and make note where it locks up.

btw it did it again last night, i set it to scan every night.

I have set BD TS to run a deep scan every week, and i did not encountered such problems.
