Hello:

I am trying the free version of bd 10 (from http://download.bitdefender.com/windows/fr...r_free_v10.exe) and after it gets updated it crashes my system: a quick blue screen comes on saying that bdfdll.sys caused a problem: driver unloaded without cancelling pending operations. Then system restarts. The current solution is just disable automatic updating, and when I want to update it, close all my apps, make it update, wait it to finish... and to crash my system dry.gif

My system is a core duo, 1Gb RAM, win xp home sp2. I thought it was caused by any other protection software, however, I cancelled all my firewalls and spyware protection but problem subsists. Any idea on what's happening?

Thanks.

PD: I like bd: it's better than avg, avast, avira, and of course, norton... so I'd like to keep it, so please help!

Hello pato

You can try this go to start, run,at the run dialog box type devmgmt.msc then go to view (monitor, screen) and select the option show hidden devices. Now press on the +-icon before the non-plug and play compatible drivers and look for BDRSDRV rightclick on it and choose for disabling. Then confirm for rebooting your pc. Be sure that the registry control option is enabled in BD to verify that open BD go to antispyware and check the option registry control. If that doesn't solve your problem rightclick on bdfdll choose disable reboot your pc. Double click on the installer and choose repair.

Best regards

Hi, Niels:

Well, actually what I only did was to disable bdfdll, and it all worked fine. What is that for?
And also, if BD is working well now, should I still repair it as you stated above?
Thanks...

Hello pato

That isn't a necessary file for the proper function of BitDefender. It's used for sending files to Softwin (developer of BitDefender products).
