Hi,

Is there anyway i could set BD as my scanner after receiving files on MSN ? Thanks
Niels
Hello danieltee

BitDefender will always scan the files that you downloaded when you are trying to open them.

I think danieltee asked if there is a way to set up BitDefender to run on-demand scan upon receiving files from MSN, because MSN often complains if there is no antivirus scanner selected in the MSN settings. For that to work, the antivirus scanner must have command line capabilities, so perhaps the question is, can BitDefender run an on-demand scan from command line? My impression is that it cannot. So BitDefender will always protect you from infection, but MSN doesn't know that and still complains.

Ok, I read in the Malware section of the forum that BD can run in command line mode. The path of the file to execute in BD 2008 is C:\Program Files\Common Files\BitDefender\BitDefender Threat Scanner\av32bit_1381\bdc.exe

There's also a folder called av32bit_1381, with apparently the same contents. Does it matter which one is used? And also, what parameters should be entered in MSN so it scans the received file?

P.S. Maybe move this thread to the Workstation forum. smile.gif
