Hello. I just installed the trial version of Bitdefender Internet Security 2008. I went to Speakeasy.com to test my speeds to see if BD would slow things down. Happy to say, it didn't.

There is a problem though. I use Firefox 2.0.0.6 as my default browser. When I run the speed test at speakeasy.com, the down load speed test work fine, the upload portion does not. It just keeps running. It never stops. When I try running the speed test using IE 7, the download and upload tests run normal.

If anybody else is using Firefox, could they please run the test and see if they get the same results. I can't figure out why it works with IE 7 and not Firefox.

Never mind. I don't need the help anymore, although I don't think I was going to get any anyway. I went with a different security suite, and I'm very happy with it.

I think you are referring to http://speakeasy.net/speedtest, a test that I have tried and works as good as it ever worked besides the upload as you've said.

I never had problems with that test, during the beta, or now with the final. Using Firefox 2.0.0.6 too.

The only thing that makes speakeasy test to work with BitDefender installed is to turn off Privacy control. Not just a feature from it, but all of it.

Wow, someone actually responded to my post. I'm using the trial version of AVG Internet Security 7.5.
