Does anyone know when we are supposed to get the upgrade from 10 to 11?

You can download version 11 here, and you can upgrade to it for free. You can upgrade from BD 10 to BD 11, from BD 10 Plus and BD 10 IS to BD 11 IS. No upgrade can be made to BD 11 TS, since it is a new product.

Thanks very much for your help. I was a bit confused because I was under the impression that the programme would automatically update itself, as it does with new definitions etc.

Am I right in thinking that programme upgrades have to be done manually?

You have to uninstall the previous build (version 10). That wasn't necessary when you wanted to upgraded from version 9.0 to 10.

According to the Technical Support articles, it is not necessary to Un install the previous version if you do not want to:

"The upgrade procedure can be done in one of the following ways:
A. Install without removing the previous version - for v9 or higher, Internet Security excluded
The upgrade is as easy as downloading the setup kit and installing BitDefender Antivirus 10 without removing the previous version."

I think that it could be wise to keep the old version for a while just in case, dont you think?

I would definitely recommend to do that for all users who are upgrading from BitDefender Antivirus Plus to Internet Security. Because of the differents. Upgrading from a previous internet security version will not cause problems. I agree that the upgrade process will work in a lot of cases but to be 100 % sure to avoid problems uninstall the previous version. I speak from experience.

What is the difference between version 11 and 2008? Which one is newer? Where do I find this version 11? I can find no reference to version 11 on the BitDefender website.

The "here" target above is another forum post, not a download. What gives here?

The 2008 product line is the version 11 line. But you will only see it when you take a look the version number of the installer.
