I just installed vista 64bit and upgraded to bitdefender internet security 2008 for 64bit. For some weird reason, once BD has been installed, I lose my internet connection. If I mouse over the LAN icon on the status bar, it says that the network is unidentified and i only have local access. I uninstalled BD and the connection came back on.

Can someone please help me? I have 1 and a half years more on my license and I don't want it to go to waste wacko.gif

Hello kvillaceran

Did you rebooted your pc when the installation finished? If not do this. After a reboot BD will create a rule for your internet connection. Did you uninstalled first the previous version?

I have the same problem, but with the 32 bit Internet Security XP version..
I uninstalled Version 10, as described on the install/upgrade page.
I installed version 2008.
After the restart, I only get network connection for around 10 minutes or so before I get blocked (no access, no traffic, nothing).

I can confirm that returning to Version 10 fixes the issue.

I am, once again, on version 2008, but this time I have turned auto-updating off, as that was the only error I could see ("An error occurred during the update - Invalid Server). I have yet to reach the 10 minute mark, or whatever the time is before the first update, so I am still online.

I have disabled auto-updating, and I am still connected. I performed a manual update and received no error.

I spoke too soon, and the auto-update seems to have nothing to do with the 'blocking'. Even with auto-update turned off, network is blocked and only a reboot will cure it (for another short while).

Reverting to Version 10IS (I made an image) gets rid of the error completely.

All very odd.

Having the same issue as above. Having the problems in both vista 64 and xp 32. This is my first BitDefender product thus I am running the free version 10 until this is resolved.

It was happening to me too. I was surprised to notice parental control enabled & think it could be the cause. Only been 15 mins tho smile.gif

EDIT: Ops, spoke too soon! Just had to reboot after Bitdefender blocked everything. Even rebooting the router doesn't fix it.
I think it must be a screw up at the DEV end. I'm on XP home if it helps.
