Full Version: Two Files Deleted

BD deleted two files upon checking my PC today. They are:

1) Trojan.Generic 1812826 located in a backup folder I have. It was titled VundoFix.exe. I've never had vundo nor downloaded a file to fix it.

2) Trojan.Generic 1812826 again about an hour later located in System volume information\restore.

Thoughts? Again, these files were deleted, which I'm not crazy about. Why can't they just be quarantined.
Cris
Hello gdobbs23,

If that file was detected on your system, it means it wason your system, so you or someone else downloaded it. BitDefender doesn't "invent" files on your system ,just so it has something to detect. smile.gif

As for quarantining... you can set both Realtime and On-Demand scans to quarantine detected files, instead of deletion/cleaning. It's just a matter of user's choice.

Where can I find these options?
Cris
Realtime:
- BitDefender Security Center (Advanced Mode) -> Antivirus -> Shield -> Custom level
- You can find there Action to take when an infected file is found and Action to take when a suspicious file is found. Set them however you like

On-Demand:
- BitDefender Security Center (Advanced Mode) -> Antivirus -> Virus scan
- right click on a task and select Open
- click Custom
- You'll find there Action options, for multiple events. Set them however you like.

Hi,

Nine files that were a false positive were deleted from my computer - is there any way I can retrieve or restore them?? They were all "C:\Windows\assembly\NativeImages_v2.0.50727_64" files, e.g.
C\Windows\assembly\NativeImages_v2.0.50727_64\dfsvc\9bf93d4841c7856e3affe423f13fa0c3\dfsvc.ni.exe.

PS are those files important for the system? I use Vista Business 64bit.
