Full Version: Symlcsv1.exe - False Positive?

I was looking through my Bitdefender history and a long time ago (5/18/2008 to be exact) bitdefender caught and deleted the file symlcsv1.exe. As far as I know this is a symantec executable for live update (yes I do have a symantec product working). It tagged it as Trojan.Generic.241145. The detection and deletion were done immediately after a pattern and engine upgrade.

What is a little weird is it found it in two places (c:\symlcsv1.exe and c:\Windows\Temp\symlcsv1.exe) and my symantec product seems to work after it was deleted. Is there is a history of false positives around this file? Are symantec products also famous for leaving detrious around (an open ended question to be sure).

My pc since has been working fine before and since (cross fingers). Another antivirus product (Symantec) also falied to tag the symlcsv1.exe file)

Hello,

This was a False Positive and the detection was removed some time ago.

Thanks!
