Thanks Cris,
Yesterday I've downloaded the newest build of bitdefender AV plus, so i planned to do a re-install of the antivirus. Who knows it might solve the activesync issue without renaming "bdpredir.dll"
Uninstallation process went easy and smooth, then I restart my machine.
Then I install the new downloaded setup file, it went smooth as well. After a restart, that's when the horror comes!!
I was prompted with "Procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library. PSAPI.DLL" from my windows search and remote controller driver are loading.
When I go and check my Services, nothing is listed there and my windows is behaving somewhat strange!
Been trying to find solutions from google on this error msg, alot of forum says it is due to IE7 beta or there are multiple copies of "PSAPI.dll" in your hard drive. The workaround is to rename the additional copies of "PSAPI.dll" to something else and keep the original in "c:\windows\system32\" .
Upon searching for "PSAPI.dll", I only have one copy sitting in "c:\windows\system32\"!
I've been using IE7 for months now, and it never gives me any problem.
So to re-try this issue, i have my handy backup image file on the OS partition ready. Within minutes, my system is up and running again.
After making sure that there are no problem with my system, I did a defrag, restart, running some application and finally another restart of my system before I re-install bitdefender.
Guess what! It happens again, same error message on the "PSAPI.DLL". I even tried restoring from my image file again and re-install it again for the last time! Definitely the new setup files is causing wreck to my system.
Using my old bitdefender installation file works fine though! So I’ve been using that and updated it(of course i'm still having issue with the activesync, have to rename "bdpredir.dll" to make it work)
Any idea on the "PSAPI.dll"? Anyone experiencing the same issue?? can anyone confirm this?
