I have the same problem today. I have read that the invalid MD5 means that the downloaded update file was corrupted.

download status update error an error occurred during the update (invalid MD 5) if the problem persists, please contact BitDefender support(contact information in about I get this when trying to update I get 5% thats all john Hello! I am using BDIES 2008, also have same problem, If you select firstly setting page, and select update section and select update. It works ( During update , runing bar color will be red color, if you select first page update point, this bar colors green) I use this way, and its solution. Another starnge point is: If you choose no silent update, you can observe update files total size, so that since 1 week evey day total virus signature file size is over 5-6 MB even, last saturday I download 17 MB virus signature fie. Also I updated every 12 hours automaticly. If you observe virus signature pieces ,it is very high. For one day approximately ove 3000 pcs . For example Yesterday evening virus signature was 2 047 396 but today 2.050.000 . That means eery day 3000 pcs virus generated by somebodies. I think huge virus file size could be blocked update download facility in the Bit Derf server. Please observe this matters and give info. Thanks VICTOR |

I'm having the exact same problem Using Bitdefender Internet Security 2008. I've pushed update like a 100 times tonight (after having reinstalled Bitdefender) and keep getting the MD5 error. So far I've been able to get my update from +- 30 MB to 20 MB left to download (after countless retry's) only to see it come back up to the original +- 30 MB total. This is driving me nuts. C'mon BD-guys, give some feedback or tackle the problem.
