Hey everyone, having some issues getting BitDefender AV 2009 to install on a friends laptop.

"An Error Occured during the installation of assembly component {9BAE13A2-E7AF-D6C3-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E}.
HRESULT: 0x800736B3

Windows Vista Home Basic
Core2Duo
2GB DDR2
nVidia Graphics

I think that possibly windows might have issues of its own and need a format anyway, but im not sure as I havnt encountered this error before. If anybody can shed some light on the subject we would be most grateful, a quick google search didnt solve much.

Cheers.

Hello Subaru,

Please try this: press the windows button together with r now type this
%userprofile%\Local Settings\Apps
Press enter. Delete the Apps folder reboot the pc. I recommend that you first remove any traces of BitDefender by using this tool. Double click on it to run it. You will be asked to reboot please do so. After the boot run the uninstall tool 1 more time and try the installation again.

Kind regards,
Niels

Thanks, problem has been solved (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

There were alot of other things with windows that were causing hassles aswell like we thought, but the uninstall tool probably helped a bit.

That location you suggested does not work with windows vista by the way (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Thanks.

Hello Subaru,

What I posted was for an English vista version. So apps could be have a different name in other language version of vista.
Glad that I could help you. You are welcome.

Kind regards,
Niels
