I'm having big problems with BDIS 2009. First, I lost spam protection. Then I lose my anti-phishing, now I have lost my firewall. It's almost like it's shutting down bit by bit. I have had it since July and had no problems at all. This is a new machine so there's no crap on it to cause this. I get the above error too "can't communicate with the Bitdefender Virus shield service" The method mentioned above doesn't work for me. Does ANYONE have any advice???

Ok........When started I had Total Internet Security 2008,
iIremoved it and downloaded and installed Total I.S. 2009 and then the firewall did NOT work.....
Was getting that comm. message about the "Virus Shield Service".........
iIthen went to the "add or remove" programs and seen BDTIS 2008 back in there .......
so i removed it again and re-installed BDTIS 2009.....this time i used the repair option and BINGO.........
BDTIS 2008 and 2009 were both back in the "add and remove" option........
BUT the Firewall works OK now........."Those friggin computers"

hope this helps someone ....This problem was on PC with XP
