Hi
I have had come across a strange problem when trying to diagnose a colleague's internet access problem The particular XP PC appeared to have no internet access IPconfig confirmed that an IP address, gateway and DNS servers were being assigned correctly I could ping to Internet addresses by number but not by name (suggesting a DNS issue) NS lookup resolved Ip addresses correctly But no web pages were possible thro' any browsers After trawling thro regisrty entries, i was almost at the pont of a reformat ... Until I uninstalled the Microsoft update KB951748 and then everthing worked again I knew this update to be an issue with ZoneAlarm security but was unaware that Bitdefender was also affected Has anyone else had problems and is there a fix for it to enable the Windows security update to be re-applied? Thanks in advance |

Thanks in advance I have exactly the same problem. Did Bit Defender do something to handle Windows Fix KB951748 such as other firewalls - e.g. ZoneAlarm - did ? Can someone from BitDefender give us a clear answer? Thanks, Megh |
