Hi Guys - Has anyone experienced problems with B/D internet security 2008 on a windws media centre pc running service pack 3?

The bitdefender services either don't load properly or fail when in use. Never had a problem with Virus+ V9. I'm very concerned that the protection keeps going off line especialy on a 8mb broadband connection. I had to shurt down and re-boot twice before bitdefender re-started correctly.

I als have Acronis truimage v9 installed I believe there have been some conflict issues with this program?

Machine spec

Intel Pentium D820
2gb DDRII Ram
750gb Hard disc sata raid
Ati Radeon X1650 512mb
Winxp MC service pack 3

Did you install XP SP3 on MCE 2002 ?!

I have also experienced the freeze up associated with Acronis True Image. I suggest you invest in a copy of O & O Disc Image V2, which has no problems with the plugging of images.

Hello diver_dave,

The only known conflict is when you mount an image of Acronis in read-only mode. But you can solve that by just exploring the archive. Using the mounting option in read and write mode doesn't cause issues. It's an issue that BitDefender and Acronis need to solve together.

Please press the windows button together with r now type services.msc press enter.
Left click on each service that has BitDefender in the name and press on start.

What exactly doesn't function anymore of BitDefender's protection?

Did you first removed version 9?

Try a repair installation first right click on the red BitDefender icon near the system clock press on exit. Now go to Start → Programs → BitDefender 2008 → Repair or
Remove. Choose repair.
