Hi All,
I just installed Bitdefender internet security 2008 and have run across an anoyance more than anything (i assume BD is doing a good thing)
Browsing the interent is fine and everything seems to be in order, speed is fine after the install ect.
The problem is when logging into my gmail account the computer will lock up for about 4-5 second, if i click on a message to open it the same thing, it will then proceed to the message and everything is back to normal. Basically moving throughout my gmail account causes this with every click of the mouse button.

I checked the task manager when this first happend and found the iexplore.exe service maxed out for the first 2-3 seconds then the BD scanning service would max out for the final 2 seconds before loading the page and getting on with business.

the site is in the white list ect.
Using Windows XP SP2 with IE7
Has anyone else seen this before? is it a matter of excluding something within BD to get it moving smoothly again?
Thanks for any help you can post guys!

It is probably caused by the HTTP scanner. Turn it off and see if it's the same.

Ok so played around a bit.
Hotmail works fine - which led me to beleive it was Gmail - didnt bother testing in Firefox or Opera.
Resolution is this:
Logged into Gmail and clicked the link 'Older Version' - works like a brand new one.
Seems Gmail has updated there software and the new version clearly does not work properly with bitdefender.
Happy to use the 'old version' of Gmail for now.
Bit defender may need to check it out for any new updates.... im sure im not hte only one using bit defender\gmail combination.
thanks all!
