I have BitDefender AntiVirus 2012, running on Windows XP 2002 SP3. Windows Update says I need to install four updates: They are all security updates for the .NET framework on Windows Server 2003 and XP x86 (KB2518864, KB2572073, KB2633880, and KB2656352). I have mine set to notify me that updates are ready to run, and then I run them.

I've run these at least a dozen times now; during the update they say they succeed. I have verified that the same four numbers keep appearing, so evidently they decide they have to run again. I've let them run overnight, so I am sure I am not shutting down the machine while they are running.

I don't have any direct evidence that BD is any part of the problem, but I wanted to ask if anyone else had heard about it. It was the problem the last time windows update would not run, I had to uninstall it, do something special to run the (very old by that time) windows updates, and then reinstall 2012.

Anybody know about these?

Hi (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Please follow the steps explained in the article below and send me via PM the generated log file:

http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=29927

If the file is too big to attach it, upload it on

http://www.sendspace.com

or

http://www.mediafire.com

and send me a PM with the download link.

If you were already asked to generate the log file, disregard the message above and just post the ticket ID.

Have a nice day.

I got it downloaded and ran it, and 3 hours later it was still running; the fan on my tower indicated something heavy was being processed, the green line indicated it was near the end of "collecting logs", but it never finished. What should I do now?

Hello (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

A product update was released. Your build should be 15.0.38.1604(please right click on Bitdefender icon from system tray-near the clock-and choose "About". You should see in the left side the build number).

In order for the product update to be installed, you need to reboot your machine(you should see in the Events -> "Reboot required" under the Update module).

Changelog:

http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?sho...st&p=139660

This build is fixing some issues related to Microsoft Windows Update service for some systems.

Let me know if everything is OK now.

Have a great weekend!
