I just installed Ubuntu linux 11.10 on an older laptop.
I've been told that linux is not suseptable to malware and viruses.

Is that true?

Hello Roger,

There are certain malwares/rootkits for Linux, but very few in number comparing with Windows. You can install BitDefender Antivirus Scanner for Unices on your Ubuntu especially if you need to scan certain Windows partitions (in a dual boot configuration) or datastores/shares,etc.
