Hi - our firm is now installing a new server (win2008) that is replacing our server (2003/32-bit). Our old server is the Master Server for BD, and my question is, how do I make our new Server the master server and how do I properly depricate BD on the old server?
Also, besides the workstations that are managed by our old server, we have a second location that has a server that acts a slave server for the pc/laptops in our satelite office (I'm not how that will affect things). thanks, Jon |

Hi Margolis,
Thank you for your post and welcome to our forum. If you will assign the new server the same IP and Name like the old machine the Bitdefender Agents present on all managed computer present in your network will know where to connect, otherwise you will have to register the new Win2008 as a master server and modify the slaves with the new ip and port connections. You can read more about the master-slave configuration from the KB below: http://www.bitdefender.co.uk/support/Maste...ration-480.html If you have any questions please fell free to contact us. Regards, Andi |
