The folder "C:\Program Files\Common Files\BitDefender" has grown 3GB in six days. The folder is on a Windows Server 2003 box with Security for Windows Servers and the Management Server installed. The folder is now 11GB in size. Is this normal behavior?

Hello, SkiFaster!
Please tell us what BitDefender products you are using and if there is a specific folder in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\BitDefender" that has a growing size: we are particularly interested if this is the v1 folder and what is the actual size? Regards, Adriana |

The folder "C:\Program Files\Common Files\BitDefender" has grown another 6GB since 5/23/11. Further exploration reveals that the growth is occurring in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\BitDefender\BitDefender Update Server\var\www\v1\patches". That folder is now 14GB. We have Management Server and Security for Windows Servers running on this server.

I too am having this problem and this week noted that the hard drive space is near 0.
The folder with the problem is "C:\Program Files\Common Files\BitDefender\BitDefender Update Server\var\www\v1\patches". That folder is now 11.6GB with 431,192 files. I am using Bitdefender Management Server Version 3.1.9, Console file version 3.0.1100.0 and Server file version 3.0.1100.0. Thank you. |

Hi Mark,
Please run the optimization pack from the link below in order to resolve the issue: http://www.bitdefender.com/support/New-Opt...r-v3-5-840.html Note: The BitDefender Client Security Optimization Pack can be applied only on BitDefender Client Security v3.5 and English Version. You can verify the version of Bitdefender installed on the machine by opening the Bitdefender Management Console - About Tab(in the upper right corner) Regards, Andrei hi Guys, This has now happened to me. Hi,
I have the same issue, and when I try to change the update server storage to another disk, it does not work (I can't change the setup, it seems to be ignored each time I re open the update server admin console). It uses always the directory under c:\program files\fichiers communs I use BD 2011 for small enterprise on Windows Server 2003 R2 32 bits and also Windows Server 2008 64bits with RDC role. Thanks for the help. Regards |

Hi lolo,
Do you have installed also Bitdefender Management Server 3.5v ? Please go to Start - All programs - Bitdefender Management Server - Bitdefender Management Console Open and login using your administrator password and click on the About Tab(in the right upper corner of the screen) to find the version number of the software. Note that the version should start with 3.x.xv Regards, Andrei Hi, I have the same issue, and when I try to change the update server storage to another disk, it does not work (I can't change the setup, it seems to be ignored each time I re open the update server admin console). Hi Prospectstech,
If you already have Bitdefender Management Server 3.5 English Version you can run the Optimization Pack from the KB below: http://www.bitdefender.com/support/New-Opt...r-v3-5-840.html Please note that the patch is only for EN version 3.5 ! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
