Hi Keith,
I'm very sorry for the late response. Please verify again the size on disk for the var\www folder located in c:\program files\common files\Bitdefender\Bitdefender Update Server. Also open the Bitdefender Management Console, click on the About Tab(in the right-upper corner of the screen) and tell me again the Bitdefender Management Server version and Build No. Looking forward to hearing from you. Hi
The managament console build number is 3.5.2.242. The original install for this site was back in August 11 2011. The server is a SBS2011 machine, running an intel motherboard Xeon CPU and 16Gb memory with raid 1 1Tb WD black edition sata 3 drives. The update server is killing this server. When it is downloading updates it runns the hard disks to 100% and all workstations lock up. I have disabled the update server to allow normal busines to carry on. I would be happy for it to do a download at exact scheduled times but this does not appear to be an option. The Var/www folder is currently sitting at 190GB. Initially I though my customer was going wild with his camera images ( I don't think even he could use that much data upo) but then traced it down to this update server! What do you suggest beofre I remove the product completely regards Keith |

Provided this message reaches you in time, please do include an email address where we can deliver you a set of binaries in order for you to exchange. This issue is solvable. Thank you very much for your understanding. Adriana |

Hi Adriana
I have3 already removed it as the customers server was dragging its bum every time the update server started downloading. I'm happy to re-install again and add the extra bits that you mentioned in your previous post. Is there a way to actually schedule the update server to do downloads at particular times rather than it doing it on an hourly or similar. I can be contacted on keith@rajenks.co.nz. My email address is in my profile |

Hi Andrei
As I replied in my email I have already applied the Optimization update (and mentioned this in a previous post). I even tried adding this several times but it has made no difference |

Hi Keith,
There is no need to run more than one time the Optimization Patch. Please tell me what was the maximum amount(size on disk) for the var\www folder and what is the actual size now. It will take some time to erase this amount of data. Regards, Andrei |

I had left it for a couple of days (this server has Tb disks so spare space was not an issue) but no change to the storage. At this stage I have removed the management server completely and manually recovered the 180Gb of disc space. I also removed it as the update server seemed to be wildly downloading and thrashing the server disks. I'm well aware of the settings where the download interval is configurable but this is only changeable by number of hours. I'm guessing that the time interval is based on when the update server process starts???? If so setting the time period is not helpfull. Can the actual time that downloads are started configurable????

Hello Grochat,
If you are certain that you have Bitdefender Management Server 3.1.9 version please upgrade to the latest available, the 3.5. Run the kit from http://download.bitdefender.com/SMB/Workst...EN/Version_3.5/ x85 or x64 according your Windows OS and select Upgrade. Have a nice evening, Andrei |

Casper do you have the English version installed?
If you console is in EN please download and install the Optimization Pack 1 that will upgrade the build no to .242 http://www.bitdefender.com/support/New-Opt...r-v3-5-840.html The size on disk for the www folder will start to decrease in 2-3 hours.
