Hi,
Was on my computer yesterday when I checked Bitdefender ISS 2008 and found that AV, Firwewall etc all marked as critical and disabled. I rebooted and this sorted things but around 10 mins later found exactly the same. You could not even go to advance setting and click on AV resident shield as it said service not available. I can't help any more as I clicked on repair and as my computer booted up (Vista home premiam Medion MD 8824) the graphics card seems to have broked (for the second time) I put this down to a dodgy graphics card but noticed on Wilders yesterday evening someone ran in the same problem. http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread....148#post1076148 Anyone else have this issue? Hello Jlo
When it happens again can you check the status of the BitDefender services? To do that press the win+r (windows button together with r) type services.msc press enter. The status should be started. In some occasions BitDefender fails to reload after an update. That could be the reason. But I think it's better that you contact live support. Press on the image of the girl and choose technical support. Best regards Niels |

Along somewhat the same lines, BD's shield got blocked by my ProSecurity app, but I was unaware of this fact for quite some time.
BOTTOM LINE- BD's icon in the system tray gives no notice when something is amiss with BD. That is NOT a good situation. I do hope the BD folks will fix it soon. |

Hello bellgamin
Normally the colour of the BitDefender icon changes when certain modules are disabled. The icon is very red when all modules are active. If that isn't the case I will report this. Best regards Niels |

Best regards Niels Hi Niels, It's true that the icon of BD 2008 is always red, even if protection or firewall are disabled. It will be good if they change it back the way it was in v. 10. |
